Refuse/Recycling

Refuse

Solid waste is collected through an open collection system in which up to six companies can apply for a solid waste collection license from the City and be approved by Council.  All companies collecting solid waste/refuse in the City must collect on Thursdays between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm

The current licensees are:

ACE - 763-427-3110
Curbside Waste, Inc. - 763-504-2872
LRS of Minnesota (Commercial Only) - 320-251-8919
Republic Services - 763-972-3335
Waste Management - 800-450-9378

 Recycling

The City contracts with Republic Services to provide residential recycling services.  The cost of recycling is paid through a combination of property tax dollars, revenue sharing and SCORE grants.  The City provides new residents with a 65 gallon wheeled cart at no cost.  Additional size carts are available.  To order a cart, please call Republic Services at 952-941-5174.  Residents will need to tell them that the City of Hanover pays for the recycling.

Recyclables are collected every-other week.  The City is split into two zones.  Below is a guide outlining acceptable and unacceptable recycling items, as well as a recycling map highlighting the zone split, and a recycling calendar for the year.
