Government
The City Council is an elected group responsible for overseeing the City’s operations and making local laws. The Mayor, elected every two years, leads Council meetings and carries out additional duties. Council Members serve four‑year terms that are staggered, with two seats up for election every two years.
The Council handles a wide range of important decisions, including how the City grows, what services are provided, and how transportation improvements are planned. Members also represent the City on various boards and commissions, such as the Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority, and Park Board.
